Médecins Sans Frontières GIS Centre
About
The GIS Centre within Médecins Sans Frontières provides geographic information and mapping services for the entire organization. It supports MSF’s activities by producing maps, managing geographic data, developing dashboards and supporting with Mobile Data Collection or remote-sensing information. The GIS Centre is organised as a coordinated network, with specialised teams for data management, mapping and Earth Observation. In parallel, more than 40 GIS Specialists are directly supporting MSF projects in the field (either permanently of through short-term deployments), ensuring that geographic information is effectively integrated into MSF’s humanitarian work. Being close to the operations, they can create maps and dashboards related to epidemiologic monitoring, transport and access, security, floods, camp management, conflict analysis or disaster response.
