About
We are the European Union’s (EU) external auditor. The ECA’s College is made up of the individual Members assigned by each Member State and is supported by some 900 staff of all EU nationalities. Through our independent, professional and impactful audit work, our mission is to assess the economy, effectiveness, efficiency, legality and regularity of EU action in order to improve accountability, transparency and financial management, thereby enhancing citizens’ trust and responding effectively to current and future challenges facing the EU. We aim to be at the forefront of the public audit profession, and to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable EU that upholds the values on which it is based.
