The Shelter, Land and Site Coordination (SLSC) Cluster provides one integrated global coordination platform bringing together the existing mandates and functions of the Global Shelter Cluster, the Global Camp Coordination and Camp Management Cluster and the Housing, Land and Property Area of Responsibility. The SLSC Cluster follows a place-based, people-centred model, recognizing that affected people live in diverse settings, including camps, informal sites, host communities, and urban or rural settlements, and require coherent shelter, land, and site coordination support across these locations. Both global lead agencies, IOM and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), are equally responsible for conflict and disaster contexts. In line with the mandates of its three predecessors, the SLSC Cluster works on: Shelter and essential household items Site and settlements planning Site and area-based management and coordination Community engagement and accountability Housing, land and property Environment, energy and climate resilience IFRC and IOM serve as the global providers of last resort for the broader SLSC Cluster.
